Check....

Visit Hogle Zoo.......CHECK

Saturday I spent a couple hours at the zoo. I loved it so much, I'm going back in August with my kids. (They were all wrapped up in their own things)

Giraffes... Aren't they gorgeous??? I don't know how they
don't fall forward when walking. (I look like I'm in pain. I'm not-or pregnant as far as that goes)

Quite the bird. Which I'm sure could peck a whole through anything. Their was a zoo guide showing the size of an Ostrich's eggs. Talk about laying an egg....

I don't know...for some reason I felt like I could relate with this bird.

I've never believed that we evolve from monkeys....I might have to re-think this concept. Look at me!!! My arms are longer than the female gorilla!! I measured up that's for sure.

EXCUSE ME....DOES ANYONE HAVE A DUMP TRUCK OF VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE LOTION??? Seriously, I wanted to paint her toenails!

Enjoyed lunch at the Blue Plate.

Interesting concept this place. Put up some cinder blocks, paint it blue...open for business.

My take on the whole thing....I liked it!! There was every type of person and lifestyle there. And being a people watcher, I was in heaven!! HOWEVER...if you're in a hurry this isn't the place for you. It's low key, and easy going.

My nephew Darren sporting his suspenders and fancy hat - enjoyed a vegetarian burger the size of his face! My sister ordered the Vegan burger. None of that sissy stuff for me....
GIVE ME MEAT!!!

Turkey Avocado with Radish Sprouts. Shoestring french fries and FRY SAUCE!!! If you don't want your pickle..... ME, ME, ME!!!
YUMMY!!!!!

What's on my mind this week? Food for thought....
The Savior emphasized love and unity and declared that we would be known as His disciples if we have love one to another....
The Savior's charge to His disciples to love one another-and the dramatic and powerful way He taught this principle at the Last Supper-is one of the most poignant and beautiful episodes from the last days of His mortal life.
He was not teaching a simple class in ethical behavior. This was the Son of God pleading with His Apostles and all disciples who would come after them to remember and follow this most central of His teachings. How we relate and interact with each other is a measure of our willingness to follow Jesus Christ. ~Elder Quentin L. Cook
Enjoy your day!

Beautiful pictures. I agree with you about the skin on that big animal. Pedicure STAT!

Loved your thoughts at the end.

Looks like a fun day at the zoo. It has changed a lot in the last few years. I hope to get there this summer, too!

Love Hogle Zoo! And the Blue Plate too - just all around Salt Lake!
Elder Nielson's quote is cool. Did you hit any DIs?

I love going to the zoo--always such a reminder about how incredible this world is and how great it is that there is so much variety.

Love your thought at the end--thanks for the reminder.

Hope you have a fabulous day.

Great quote at the end. OK, the Hogle Zoo is fun. We used to take our TK class there and believe me it wasn't relaxing!
I would have chosen the same sandwich that you chose and I feel the same way about pickles! Love 'em!

We visited the Zoo a few weeks ago. Had a whole family group. It was lots of fun.
Never have tried the Blue Plate...I'll have to keep it in mind for next time.

Glad you enjoyed Hogle Zoo. I really don't care for zoos--too smelly. I think I'd rather sew...

Wanting Vaseline ICL for that Rhino or Elephant was hilarious. It made me think twice about complaining about my own wrinkles!!

Cute commentary on your zoo trip! :)

That place looks yummy.. and I kinda like places that are not in a hurry. ~ Unless I have my kids screaming for food! :9

I needed Neilson's quote today.
Thanks a million for it. Really.

I guess going to the zoo once in a great while is fun. I'm just not a zoo lover. I think the last time I went to Hogle Zoo was when Alyssa was in kindergarter and went on a field trip. I was one of the chaperones.

I like what is on your mind and the thing to put on ones pillowcase!...and the food and the zoo, haven't been there in quite awhile! (That was funny about planting your face in the cupcakes!)

What a wonderful day you had! And look how gorgeous YOU are!!!!I have tried several times to go vegetarian, but that sirloin steak keeps calling my name. It is extremely hot here in Maine...brutal is a good word for it. Hugs, Kathleen

Oh, that took me back to my childhood!! We would often visit the Hogle zoo. I even got lost there when I was six and attending a birthday party. But I haven't been there in years. I will have to correct that next time I am in Utah with family.

And I love the quote at the end of your post.

I feel badly that Ethan is 8 and I have never taken him to the zoo. I need to figure out how to do that sometime soon.

Both of my kids are animal lovers and would go crazy over seeing all of the animals that are there.

Hope you get to squeeze in a trip to the zoo with your kiddos this fall.

SO happy that you were able to enjoy a fun day and WOW the sandwich you chose looks to die for yummy!!

Thanks for your uplifting quote and sharing some of your summer FUN!! I noticed you are on the blogger retreat list...YAY, it will be SO much fun to get to meet you!!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!!
